How to Choose a Server
General guidance
For general browsing and privacy, connect to the server nearest to your physical location — it gives the lowest latency and fastest speed.
Server types
- Standard servers — best for everyday browsing, streaming, and privacy.
- P2P servers — optimized for torrenting and large file transfers. Available in select countries.
- Obfuscated servers — disguise VPN traffic as regular HTTPS. Use these in countries that restrict VPNs.
- Double VPN servers — route your traffic through two VPN servers for extra privacy. Slower but more secure.
Choosing for streaming
To access a streaming library from a specific country, connect to a server in that country. For example, connect to a US server to access US Netflix. Some servers are specifically optimized for streaming and are labeled in the app.
Server load indicator
Each server displays a load percentage. Servers under 30% load offer the best performance. Avoid servers above 80% load if speed matters.
