VPN Keeps Disconnecting
Problem
The VPN connection drops unexpectedly and requires manual reconnection, interrupting your browsing or work.
Common causes
- Unstable or weak internet connection (Wi-Fi signal drops).
- Power-saving mode is suspending network activity.
- Your ISP is throttling or interfering with VPN traffic.
- The Kill Switch is disconnecting you when the VPN drops (by design).
- An outdated app version with a known stability bug.
Troubleshooting steps
- Check your Wi-Fi signal strength — move closer to your router or switch to a wired connection.
- Disable battery saver / low-power mode on your device, as it may cut background network activity.
- Go to Settings > Protocol and switch to NordLynx, which handles unstable connections better.
- Enable Auto-reconnect in Settings so the app automatically restores the VPN if it drops.
- Update SkyDomeVPN to the latest version from your app store or our website.
If the Kill Switch is enabled, your internet will be cut whenever the VPN drops. This is the expected behavior to protect your privacy. Disable it only if uninterrupted connectivity is more important than privacy.
